The CCI

Our data provider, SSRS, has reported a data collection problem in its omnibus survey, which includes the Consumer Comfort Index, from Nov. 21 to Dec. 12, 2021. Revised CCI results are listed below (along with new results for the current week). Our previous reports for the affected weeks are withdrawn.

Additionally, because of a change in SSRS’s interviewing schedule, no CCI data will be released next week.

The index and its component gauges correlate highly with other economic indicators, including on a leading basis, supporting predictive modeling that leverages the frequency and length of the data series. Charts below show its relationship with the DJIA, employment, housing market and less-frequent consumer indices.
